Make your Snowcade tracks to the library

Think gardening!  Big doings planned for Snocade in Indian Lake from 2/16-2/24!  We are thinking about summer gardens with our Crafts for Kids and Gardening Programs for adults. While you may be skating, sledding and enjoying book and cookie sales,  the library will have Crafts for Kids at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of Snocade. Gardening roundtable for grownups on Wednesday at 2:00. Call for info

Knitting Group forming!

Love to knit and enjoy the company of other knitters?   EVERY Friday (not just the first Friday) from 1-3 PM join a casual group of knitters who like to have fun and relax with others.  Bring your own project and do your own thing! See you Feb 2 but leave your shadow at home

Story time for kids

On the occasional Thursday morning at 10:30 we’ll have stories for pre-school aged children. A chance to socialize for care givers as well as kids. Five to thirty minutes, depending on attention span; PLEASE CALL BEFORE YOU COME since we will only have story time if staff time and kids allow !

Lose a book?

File under policies, but sometimes there is confusion when well meaning patrons replace a book that they lost or damaged with one they bought (usually at a significant discount)  The Indian Lake Library doesn’t charge overdue fines, but this is one area where we do request payment, not the book replacement.  The fine amount is based on the replacement cost plus processing, but we do our own purchasing. Questions? Ask the management!

Climate Program at the LIBRARY

We have moved our final program scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 6 PM to the Library due to equipment problems at the theater. PLACE, Public Libraries Advancing Community Engagement, invites you to a discussion of  “Odds Against Tomorrow” by Nathaniel Rich and ask our Guest Meteorologist, Steve DiRienzo, your questions about climate.

Final PLACE program Thursday November 9, 6 PM

Odds Against Tomorrow by Nathaniel Rich will be the final book to be discussed as we Push the Limits and glimpse in to the future of NY.  Multiple copies of the book are available at the library. Our NOAA meteorologist will take your questions as we discuss community strategies at the Indian Lake Theater. Sign up for this free program. Light snacks will be served to tide us over.
