News from our Writers Group

Just for the record, we have not received ANY complaints about the laughter or tears of the Writer’s Group!  You are all most welcome to use our space and we hope more people will feel free to join you when they see you in action.  The newsletter from October can be found here :  October Newsletter Writers Group.  Thanks to Poets & Writers and Friends of the Library for underwriting our workshop/reading event. Next year, in September!

Board Meeting Date change for November

The Board of Trustees has changed the date of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Indian Lake Library.  With the budget meeting schedule and the holiday schedule upon us, the Board will meet on Wednesday NOVEMBER 7, 2012 at 4:30 at the library.

Winter hours begin with the snowfall

Shades of things to come!  In winter we don’t have a lot of people venturing out to the library during midweek evenings so we adjust our hours and open 11-4 on Wednesdays. We usually begin right after Columbus Day, but stayed open last Wednesday for the poetry reading. Glad we did!

Attention writers and poets!

The Indian Lake Public Library will be host to the Indian Lake Writers Group, Poet Michael Czarnecki and Author Steve Coffman for a program of workshops and readings on Wednesday, October 10, at 1:00 PM

These programs are open to writers of all ages. Please bring some of your work to share!

The workshop will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM, the reading from 7:00 PM- 9:00 PM

This event is co-sponsored by Poets & Writers, Inc. through public funds it has received from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Friends of the IndianLake Library

Take a seat and read

When George Griebel made a donation in memory of his wife  Charlotte, he discussed the possibility of purchasing a bench or chairs for the library lawn. Coincidentally,  The Town of Indian Lake started a “have a seat” program encouraging hospitality throughout the Town.  Thanks to Library Trustee and artist Bernadette Traeger and Trustee Bill Murphy, we think our chairs are

the most welcoming.  You’ll like our Adirondack chairs in Indian Lake!

Catch Up with the Indian Lake Writers Group

The Indian Lake Writers’ Group will meet Wednesday, September 19 at 1:30 at the library. Consider writing something on the subject of “layers”, “I could go on and on”, “stirring” or write a poem and match it to music.
