Indian Lake Writers’ Group August 2013 Monthly Newsletter LXXXIII

Nine writers gathered at the August writers’ meeting.  The group discussed Michael Czarneckies’ suggestion that we embark on a new chapbook.  All agreed that we would enjoy a new project.  The idea of theme was discussed and further ideas will be considered at the September meeting.  Since we have a number of artists among us, it was suggested that sketches and photos may also be submitted.  We encourage all to bring their ideas to our next meeting.

California Dreaming?

Wednesday, August 7 at 7:00 PM the Indian Lake Theater is the place to be!  The Friends of the Indian Lake Library are hosting Gerry Lemmo, presenting the flaura, fauna and lifestyle in his presentation, “California, Here I Come!”.  The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments follow.

Nan Hoffman on Wednesday night

We’ll dig into reading with MUSIC!  At 7 PM the Indian Lake Library will host Nan Hoffman who will entertain us with song and story at the Byron Park Pavilion.  This is a summer reading program for the entire family.  Here’s  a preview

Book sale was a great success!

Thanks to all who came out to support the Friends of the Library book sale. The goodies quickly disappeared.  Everyone appreciates the community support.  Hope you had a great Adirondack Challenge weekend!

Open Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 1 pm

In honor of the Adirondack Challenge, the Indian Lake Library will be open for your use this Sunday, July 21, from 10 am to 1 pm.  The book sale is set up and looks terrific with books both inside the Town Hall and under the big white tent.  We are looking forward to a great weekend  Friends Summer Booksale 001

Michael Czarnecki and Steve Coffman provided a stimulating afternoon and evening with members and new visitors to our Writers’ Group. Michael has been inspiring us with his visits for sixteen years or more.
