After completing a year and a half of creativity, cooperation and hard work our Chap Book arrived just in time for distribution at our monthly meeting.  How exciting to finally view the finished product after all of this hard work.  It was considered a rousing success.  Many of our wonderful writers’ brought pieces to read.  The creativity does not stop.

Learn about Self- Publishing

Pete Klein, author of 4 vampire novels and the guide book “Adirondack Hikes in Hamilton County,” will be on hand at the Indian Lake Public Library on Friday, Nov. 14, starting at 7 p.m. to sign copies of his books, discuss the books with readers and offer opinions on the ins and outs of self-publishing.
Pete will generously donate half of the proceeds from all books sold to the library.

Indian Lake Writers’ Group           LXXXXV    October, 2014

It is always a welcome pleasure to spend time with our two friends, Michael Czarnecki and Steve Coffman at their Writing Workshop presentation.  Over the many, many years that Michael has been coming to Indian Lake he has offered a variety of programs in order to inspire our writing.  When Steve joined him, quite a few years ago also, the two of them offered a balance of poetry with memoir writing.  Finally, the two have developed a pattern of sharing their personal wisdom as well as critiquing writing brought to them by members of our group. The beauty of this is that it offers each of us a personal response from both Michael and Steve. Their ability to listen carefully and make thoughtful suggestions enables us to work on improving a specific piece of our own writing. This has been a very successful experience for all of us. Web Training Scheduled

Saturday, October 18th, the library will hold a computer training class on using the internet. This is a class for beginners or refreshers and will include the basics of online searching information on the web, banking, shopping online, setting up and using email.  Please call in advance, since space is limited.
