Winter Hours Begin

The library will be closed on Columbus Day and will start winter hours this week.  We won’t reopen on Wednesday nights and hope you will stay in and read by a cozy fire instead.  Winter hours are Monday 12-4, 7-9 PM, Tuesday 11-3, Wednesday 11-4, Thursday closed, Friday 12-4, 7-9 and Saturday 10-1 pm. Live, online one-on-one interaction with a tutor or job coach is available as part of JobNow™ and the Adult Learning Center. Live sessions can be conducted in English or Spanish.  JobNow is made possible through a federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) award funded through the New York State Education Department/New York State Library.

It may not be summer but a busy week ahead

It’s Poetry Day on Wednesday, September 21  . Join Michael Czarnecki, Steve Coffman, and local writers for a fun day of poetry and prose.  Workshop at the library at 1, reading at 7. Bring your work, questions and comments.  Prepare to relax, think and enjoy.

The Board of Trustees will meet at 4:30 at the library. Special guest, Sara Dallas will join us. All welcome

Learning Quickbooks

Please drop a note or call the library if you would be interested in an evening program on Quickbooks for small businesses.

Learn about what this financial program can do for you.  This includes the software  basics, organizing your financial data, setting up your system, entering bills and recording data needed  for your financial statements.

If you don’t have a copy of Quickbooks,  but interested in purchasing the software, we will have information available for you to purchase.

The program has tentatively been scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 7:00 PM. A modest charge for this class will depend on the number enrolled.  Call the library to sign up.

Poets & Writers to sponsor Poetry Reading and Writing Workshop

Michael Czarnecki and Steve Coffman return to the Indian Lake Library on September 21, 2011 with a poetry and creative writing workshop at 1 PM and a reading that night at the library at 7 PM.  Many thanks to P&W and the Friends of the Library for bringing new ideas and creativity to Indian Lake!  All are welcome; bring your stories, problems and successes to share

One World Many Stories this Summer

Programming for kids kicks off Tuesday following the 4th of July!  Join us on July 5, Tuesday at 11 am for Vinnie’s Play House!  We will read “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” and other stories, in preparation for the opera to be performed by the Seagle Music Colony at 10 AM at the Indian Lake Theater on July 12.

Vinnie’s Play House will alternate between the Library and the Theater

Wednesdays at 7 PM join us for One World Many Stories, Science and Nature Programs

Mondays at noon are for Puppet Theater in July

All programs are FREE and open to the public
