Eight people attended our April meeting and there was a sense of reunion after the long winter. Everyone was glad to see each other again.
We began with a few moments of silence in memory of Nancy Strader. We will miss her presence very muchMany of the readings took us to other places including Pennsylvania, New York City, Greenwich Village, Long Island, and Troy, N.Y. Coincidentally, three of the pieces were about individuals other people avoid because of their appearance, behavior, or smell. Luckily, there were more cheerful pieces, though, and the group was excited to hear that we may have a new member who lives in Brant Lake. We hope to meet her at our next meeting.
Copies of a poem showing the “portrait, landscape, portrait” format were distributed in case others want to craft such a poem for our next meeting.
If anyone is interested reading publically some Thursday evening at the Indian Lake Theater, prior to a movie, please let Donna Bradley know.
Our next meeting will be May 13th at 1:30 in the library.
