Dear Parents and Caregivers,
This summer we have an exciting 6 week program all revolving around animals and stories about animals. This year we hope to meet in person, outside when weather permitting, and inside when not. All safety guidelines will be observed by everyone at the library.
Each week will feature stories and extension activities like crafts and games. There will also be passive programming opportunities at the library your kids can enjoy anytime we are open.
We are tring something new this year and have at least 2 elementary age groups planned. Group 1 will be for kids entering Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades. Group 2 will be for kids entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades (incoming 6th graders are also encouraged to join us). We will be also start offering a few programs for toddlers to pre-school, and for teens this summer.
Can your kids sign up for a different age group? Absolutely! Especially if there are siblings who are in different groups who’d like to be together, or if parents can only fit in one visit a week. It’s up to you! We have similare themes for each group, there may be different extension activities is all.
Everyone is so busy and our kids are no exeption. There’s so much going on in town with swimming lessons, camps, and the Trailblazers Club. As of July 1, most participants have signed up for Friday mornings or Thursday afternoons, so we narrowed choices to reflect that preference.
Thursdays 3:00 – 4:00 grades K, 1, 2
Fridays 10:30 – 11:30 grades 3, 4, 5, 6

Week of July 12th: Those We Choose as Pets
Week of July 19th: Backyard Habitats: the Whys and How-to’s
Week of July 26th: Animal Heros & How to Be a Hero for Animals
Week of August 2nd: Wild About Wild Animals
Week of August 9th: Fantastic Beasts: The Good, the Bonkers, and the Make-Believe

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate in the programs as much as they are comfortable. You may want adult time to browse materials or use other library services while your kids are in the program. That’s completely up to you, but an adult representing and responsible for your kids must be present on library grounds while your kids are here.
We also ask everyone participating in the program follow our library’s COVID-19 policies. CDC and NYS Guidelines are changing as circumstances change, and our Board of Directors sets policy we must abide by for the health and safety of everyone.
